11/7/2013 - Press release

Net interest income was NOK 525 million in the first nine months of 2013, compared to NOK 986 million in the same period of 2012. The reduction was as expected and due to the lower level of interest generating assets combined with a more normalized market for USD/NOK basis swaps.

Net interest income was NOK 525 million in the first nine months of 2013, compared to NOK 986 million in the same period of 2012. The reduction was as expected and due to the lower level of interest generating assets combined with a more normalized market for USD/NOK basis swaps.

Comprehensive income according to IFRS in the first nine months of 2013 was negative NOK 3,234 million, compared to negative NOK 12,896 million in the same period of 2012. The change was due to lower unrealized losses on Eksportfinans’ own debt compared to the first nine months of 2012.

Profit excluding unrealized gains and losses on financial instruments and realized losses hedged by the Portfolio Hedge Agreement amounted to NOK 305 million in the first nine months of 2013, compared to NOK 680 million in the same period of 2012.

Total assets amounted to NOK 106 billion at September 30, 2013, compared to NOK 157 billion at December 31, 2012. The reduction was in line with expectations and due to the limitations on new lending business since November 18, 2011 as well as repayments on the current loan and debt portfolios.

At September 30, 2013, the core capital adequacy ratio was 32.1 percent, compared to 25.0 percent at December 31, 2012. At the end of the first nine months of 2013, the company had liquidity reserves totaling NOK 29.9 billion.

A conference call is scheduled for Thursday November 7, 2013 at 10am NY / 3pm London / 4pm CET.
